Thursday, September 20, 2001 LOUISA MAY ALCOTT  -  FAMILY TIES & FRIENDS 

Jane Sciacca will present an insight into the life and home of  Louisa May Alcott and family. Franklin neighbor Horace Mann will also be featured as part of Miss Alcott's family group.

Thursday, October 18, 2001 1692 REVISITED:  SALEM WITCH TRIALS

Jim McAllister, Salem historian photographer, author and teacher, will recreate the atmosphere which brought about these infamous trials.

Thursday, November 15, 2001 ROAD TO THE RENAISSANCE

Higgins Museum Outreach Program, led by Heather Feland, will present reproduction armor, talk about knights and their code of chivalry, how it came about and why it finally faded.

Thursday, January 17, 2002 THE HIDDEN VALUE OF YOUR COLLECTIBLES

At Wrentham's own "Road Show", Ronald Goodrich will talk about printed collectibles - magazines, books, posters, advertising materials, stamps, postcards, letters - anything printed on paper - and coins.  No antiques, porcelain, pewter, silver, etc.

Thursday, February 21, 2002 THE LEGEND OF CHARLIE PARKHURST                                     Stage Coach Driver, 1813-1879    -   A True Story

And other stories will be told in vivid descriptive detail by master storyteller, Jay Engel, who teaches the art of storytelling.

Thursday, March 21, 2002 DICKENS:  A DRAMATIC PRESENTATION

Kenneth Brooke reenacts Charles Dickens' speech in Boston in 1842, and presents Dickens' view of  the world.  He will bring to life many of his characters.

Thursday, April 18, 2002 AMELIA EARHART:  FIRST LADY OF THE AIR

Clad in period attire, Jessa Piaia will present a dramatic portrayal of pioneer aviatrix Amelia Earhart - the first woman to fly the Atlantic in 1932.

Thursday, May 16, 2002 CALVIN COOLIDGE:  MYTH OR REALITY

Calvin Coolidge, 30th President of the United States, one of the most misunderstood and distorted figures in the history of the American Presidency.  Sheldon Stern, Historian and Educational Consultant to the JFK Library, will present an informed lecture on "Silent Cal".  The lecture will explore the origins of the Coolidge stereotype and accurately discuss his record in Massachusetts and Washington.
